Matemateca’s participaton in PROIAD

[2025 feb] Starting in 2025, Matemateca will be part of the teaching initiation program (PROIAD), at which scholarship holders will make part of planing e execution of exhibition visits to Matemateca, as well as suporting complementary educational activities and research proposals. The target audience will be middle and high school teachers and students.

Exhibition “A Simetria Assimetria” (A Simetry Assimetry) at IME-USP

[2025 mar & apr] The Prof. Eduardo Colli, in partnership with Prof. Khaled Ghoubar, retired professor at FAU, assembled and promoted the exhibition of drawings “A Simetria Assimetria”. The exhibit is available between march 21st and april 11th de abril, and consists of 15 original drawings that follow the principals of geometric simmetry: translation, rotation and reflection. The artist’s goal is to create assimetrical compositions that still mantain complex and unusual harmonies.

Exhibition at the Brazilian Public School Math Olympiad (OBMEP) – Regional Education Directory of São Miguel

[2025 may] On may 6th, we presented an exhibition at the OBMEP (brazilian public school math olimpiads) regional awarding event, promoted by the regional education directory of São Miguel, with estimated public of 300 people.

[2025 jul] On may 6th, we presented an exhibition at the OBMEP (brazilian public school math olimpiads) regional awarding event, which occured at the CEU Vila Alpina, promoted by the regional education directory of Ipiranga, with estimated public of 120 people.

Presentation at 10th USP’s graduation congress

[2025 aug] On august 06th and 08th, the teaching initiation program (PROIAD) scholarship holder Laís Silva Costa Nascimento had her presentation work intitled "Ações Educativas na Matemateca" (Schooling actions in Matemateca) aproved for presentation as a digital poster at the Congress, in august 8th’s section. The work was indicated for publication at the annals of the event, Which will occur at the Pirassununga USP campus.

Lecture at the first joint meeting Brazil-Mexico in mathematics

Participation at USP de Portas Abertas (USP with open doors)

[2025 sep] On september 13th, Matemateca was part of the event “USP de Portas Abertas” (USP with open doors), organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Culture and Extension, making part of the guided tours, but also open to the public. The estimated public was 50 people

Visit of Escola de Apoio de Recife (Support School of Recife)

[2025 sep] On september 22nd, 26 high school students from the Escola de Apoio de Recife (Support School of Recife) visited the Matemateca at IME-USP

Visit of the Regional Education Directory of Buntantã

[2025 nov]On november 19th, around 42 educational coordinatiors from public schools came to IME-USP, to visit Matemateca and disscuss how to treat mathematical objects in classes

Lecture at the 1st National Meeting for Math Popularization – PoP!Mat. 2025

[2025 dec] From december 3rd to 5th, in Campinas, São Paulo, The 1º Encontro Nacional de Popularização da Matemática - PoP!Mat. 2025 (1st National Meeting for Math Popularization – PoP!Mat. 2025) occured where the Prof. Eduardo Colli gave the lectura “Matemateca do IMEUSP: história, identidade e reflexões. 2025” (IMEUSP’s Matemateca: history, identity and reflections. 2025).
